2003 Member Political Action Conference
September 7-10, 2003 • Washington, DC
SEIU's 2003 Member Political Action Conference will bring together more than 1,500 SEIU activists from across the United States to begin the critical task of igniting member activism for the 2004 elections. We will:
Connect with Presidential Candidates
-
Meet the presidential candidates. Hear what they have to say. Tell them what they need to know about our issues.
- Learn what we can do to make a critical difference in 2004 and why we must start now!
Build Skills and Strategize; How We Will Win in 2004
- Build campaign skills in workshops by comparing notes and strategizing with other union activists.
- Develop techniques to effectively communicate with union members.
- Learn how to bolster COPE fundraising efforts.
- Discover ways to “enlighten” lawmakers and politicians.
- Learn what works, what doesn’t, and how to know the difference.
Flood the U.S. Capitol with a “Sea of Purple”
- Lobby Congress on our No.1 issue: Health Care.
- Show our Senators and Representatives that we know how to put our political strength into action.
